Florence

Everybody told us we would enjoy Florence more than Venice, so we went there. It does have a lot of great art to look at, but the city itself was nothing special, particularly compared to Rome, which we visited later.

Ponte Vecchio, a rennaissance-era bridge that was the only remaining bridge after the Germans left in WWII. Thing is gonna fall in the water soon in any case.

Perugino, "Deposition from the Cross". From the Galleria Del'Academia. I've gotten to be quite fond of Perugino.

David, Michaelangelo. From the Galleria Del'Acadamia.

La Musica Sacra, Massini. From the Galleria Del'Acadamia.

View down the arno.

Another, very similar view down the arno.

Courtyard of the Uffizi, wherein other works of art were kept - the big draw seemed to be "Birth Of Venus" (Botticelli?). Unfortunately photos were not allowed.

Slightly better shot of the Arno.
