Cold Boiling Lake Trail

After the Bumpass Hell area, we split up and I hiked downhill another couple of miles past Cold Boiling Like, to King's Creek Picnic area, where Steph picked me up in the car.

Hillside along trail. The trail is virtually all downhill from the thermal area to Cold Boiling Lake itself.

All the trees here are curved outward at the base... I guess because of the snowload's effect on the trees when they are young.

After all that, cold "boiling" lake bubbles up in about 2 square feet of area... still it's a beautiful lake.
