Mill Creek Falls Trail

We noticed early on that while the book said "300 feet elevation change" for this trail, they meant "net elevation change" not "cumulative elevation change". This trail was a thigh-burner.

Lots of Stellar Jays on this trail.

The hillsides look beautiful in a picture, but in real life, that yellow stuff is Mule-Ears, or Wyethia, which has a somewhat unpleasant odor.

After the hillside, the trail goes through a forested area.

We found a small family of deer feeding here, including two fawns.

More hillside.

The falls. For all that this waterfall is higher, it isn't very photogenic - it's hard to get a good angle on it. Some of the stream coming into it is pretty though.

Steph near the falls.

Steph and I.

Humongous fungus.

Great big neat-looking tree.

The hills are alive with... something.

It looks like the angle is wrong, but in fact the trees are leaning.

Another interesting tree.
